God's Truth Not Smooth Words

God’s Instructions for Study

Let God Tell You How to Study His Bible:  Lighted Bible

HOW: with prayer and by topic! Open my eyes, so I may learn the wonders of God’s law. (Psalm 119:18) Precept law must be upon precept; line upon line; here a little, there a little. (Isa. 28:9-10) Search the scriptures; (John 5:39) Study to show yourself approved by rightly dividing the truth. (II Tim. 2:15) {This is to study by topic/subject, as opposed to simply reading the Bible from front to back}

WHY: so…we don’t sin against Almighty God. (Psalm 119:11) Righteous people study for answers: (Prov. 15:28) Continue in God’s Word in order to be Christ’s disciples; and to know the truth and be set free. (John 8:31-32) Study to show self approved by God. (II Tim. 2:15) Study to understand doctrine, for reprimand, correction, for instruction in righteousness: so the person may be[come] perfect, completely strengthened to do all godly works like the Father is perfect. (II Tim. 3:16-17) And study to be quiet. (I Thess. 4:11) The word of God is powerful and He knows the true thoughts and intents of each person’s heart. (Heb. 4:12)—Why? Jesus said, “Be perfect as the Lord is perfect. Be Holy as the Lord is Holy.” {This is achieved by the How.}

TRUST: Christ, the Holy Ghost and any one who studies, searches, rightly divides and…They speak only God’s Truths (II Sam. 23: 2), teach God’s law and Christ’s testimony: speaking only His words because there is light in them. (Isa. 8:20) Trust those spiritually mature. (Isa. 28:9) Trust anyone who obeys all and teaches all of God’s commandments. (Matt. 5:19) Trust any one obedient in all things, for they know the doctrine, that it is God’s. (John 7:17) Trust any of His witnesses of these things; and the Holy Ghost, whom God has given to all those who obey God. They always teach and preach Jesus Christ. (Acts 5:32,42) And they teach only God’s doctrine, godly edifying by faith, (I Tim. 1:3,4) teaching the words of Christ from the Old and New Testaments, and the doctrine of God teaching godly behavior. (I Tim. 6:3)

  1. who gave instructions on how to live? qas it GOD, JESUS, or the LORD?

    Is the “Instruction” different way of saying commandants?

    • I’m uncertain of your point, Jeffrey; for it comes across with a bit of mockery. God’s instructions in this study are so we can study His Word for His Truth. And, no, this is not a “different way of saying commandants. God’s Law is what we are to obey, not man’s form of it; therefore, studying the Bible in the manner God prescribes gives exquisite clarity and shames man for his tampering.

      Much love in Christ, BonnieQ 🙂

  2. Thank you so much, my darling sister in Christ; though it is not I who presents God’s Word in a clear and straight forward way: it is by God through His Holy Spirit that has such a magnificent ability. It is my constant prayer that all come to His straight forward way so wholly absent of man’s smooth words.

    Much love and hugs always and everest! 🙂 SisBon

  3. This has got to be the best summation of studying the Word around. It encourages me every time I read it.

    You are a true gift to the Kingdom of God. He has blessed you with the ability to present His precious Word in a clear and straight forward way. You do more in three paragraphs than supposedly learned professors do in their volumes of learning.

    Love and hugs always and forever more – joanne
