God's Truth Not Smooth Words

Absence of Light ~~ spiritual poem

Absence of Light

Our science says the sun’s rays are measurable;

miles they travel, and through a prism colours’ Light;

and it can break Darkness for illumination.

In sun’s warmth we perform our labours with much might,

visit the sick, raise fam’lies, care for those we love.

Only does cold night seem to bring out wicked blights;

though, Darkness can’t be defined by color’s prism

hence, Darkness is no more than an absence of Light.

And, science also declares there’s no loving God,

yet freely admits that evil abounds in life.

Indeed, all agree lies and murder are evil;

that wars and child abuse are all of the same strife.

Still, man bows to his idols of vile blasphemy,

for adult’ry against God and husband or wife.

But like Darkness, wickedness lends to no prism;

for evil is the absence of God in one’s life.

Our precious Saviour said, “Obey God’s commandments;

for in violating one ye sin in them all,

thus condemning thyself to utter destruction.”

Breaking God’s Law is no stumble, rather a fall;

for stumbling is an unwitting violation,

’til the Spirit reveals the Law’s weight by God’s call.

It is then one must choose obedience, or not;

for breaching even one is to break twelve in all.

 inspired by Albert Einstein:“As cold is the absence of heat, and darkness is the absence of light; so evil is the absence of God.”
