God's Truth Not Smooth Words

A God of Miracles

A God of Miracles

A few weeks ago, TSaS presented a lesson entitled “From Adversity to Blessings,” in which was quoted a scripture about coming to know that there is no one greater than God. With the strange weather we’ve all experienced across this nation and around the world, it is hoped we are learning more and more to rely on God’s power. Many of us have discovered anew that we, indeed, serve a God of miracles. We have only to ask in Christ’s precious name, believing, and He assures us that His Father will do as we ask.

God’s people also are blessed to know that we are living in earth’s end days, for the vast majority deny the truth of this; albeit, even now, the world is beginning to sit up to question if this is so and it is now coming out in televised news reports. Recently on Oprah, prior Vice President Al Gore offered a slide presentation about the disastrous effects of global warming, revealing that it is far worse than we have been led to believe as he showed film clips on various areas of both the north and south poles’ ice caps.

Just yesterday, news announced that a huge chunk of ice, the size of 11,000 football fields, had broken off into the sea; nearby towns having felt it as though it had been an earthquake. The other day a volcano erupted ash and flowed with red-hot magma in icebound Siberia, non-seasonal deadly tornadoes in Texas as well as Florida, repeat blizzards in Colorado, and increasing fog and flooding in England. Of course, there are back-to-back storms with deadly winds, rains, snows, flooding, and mudslides in Western Washington, where TSaS is located.

A Seattle King 5 reporter stated, “We’ve never seen such strange weather patterns around the world as we have experienced in the past year and especially in the last few months. Every known record has been broken everywhere.” Another reporter questioned, “What does this mean to the world? Could it mean earth is about to end?” A friend in England stated that their news broadcasts are saying the same things about that part of the world.

King 5 news presented a brief review on how even plants are being affected; reminding TSaS of scripture regarding these end days, “Even the trees are confused.” A reporter showed film clips of various types of flowers now blooming, those by seed and bulb, in myriad places across America, all of which should not begin to bloom until early to mid-spring. The reporter included various trees, annuals and perennials, while saying, “It seems the plants are confused!” Our British friend said this is happening in England as well. TSaS reported this phenomenon to its members several years ago, warning that it is one of the signs pointing to Christ’s quick return.

Since its inception 4 years ago, TSaS has reported the many prophetic signs having been and/or are being fulfilled since 1991. TSaS has been tracking all the natural elements since entering the last church age in 1991. Therefore, its main thrust has been to warn people that earth is about to come to its second end thus repentance must be done quickly, after which earth shall lie fallow one thousand years; for Christ is about to come through the door to take up His small flocks.

There is no doubt even God’s people are affected by God’s wrath demonstrated in earth’s natural elements, albeit not as drastically as people who do not know God; so, what can we do until Christ comes for us? First, we must be reminded that we serve a God of miracles and He hasn’t stopped performing them for His children. God protects His own!

While TSaS cannot speak for its worldwide members, inasmuch as we haven’t heard from most of them, it can speak about its experiences during the most recent storms to assail Western Washington, thus testifying to God’s miracles given time and again. And, we can speak from friends who have related incidents in their part of the world. Some of these miracles might seem insignificant, of no importance; yet, be reminded that God takes care of the smallest details just as quickly as He takes care of major issues.

As all of you know, senior sister BonnieQ experienced the early stages of hypothermia during Washington’s first lengthy power outage a few weeks ago; and, it was a major issue to get her somewhere warm: which God handled expediently and efficiently without Bonnie even asking the neighbor who took in her and the two ferrets. The little things, however, really came to light during the second, shorter power outage that lasted about 16 hours: just long enough for the old, metal mobile home to become quite cold.

Power had gone out during the night, due to the main power plant serving Mason County having been hit. When Bonnie got up, she poured a half-cup of icy coffee while asking the Lord to make it hot. Within five minutes, her neighbor Curt drove in on his quad with a camp stove strapped to the back. Well, Bonnie not only had hot coffee within five minutes but hot soup for lunch as well.

By 3pm, Bonnie was feeling tired and overly cold, apparently not quite over the effects of hypothermia suffered the last time around; thus she got into bed under a mound of blankets where she prayed without ceasing, asking the Lord to allow the power to come back on before dark. It gets dark in Western Washington about 4:30pm this time of year and with that darkness comes dramatically colder conditions.

At 4:10pm, Bonnie heard the click of the furnace coming on, the ping of her alarm clock announcing it was out of sync, the refrigerator’s hum and a whoosh of air from heat registers. The power was on before dark! Bonnie jumped up and danced around the kitchen singing praises of glory and power to God, telling Him there is no one greater than Him, while preparing a hot meal and listening to news reports.

As a Texas sister in Christ noted when the incidents were related to her, “When we pray in specifics, God gets real specific!” In fact, just a few days later, Anita and Doyle were sitting in DFW airport waiting for a flight to Las Vegas to see their pregnant daughter, due in just a few weeks, and her family. They fly standby as parents of an American Airlines’ flight attendant. With the tremendous back up caused by Denver’s recent down time, it was decided that, if necessary, she and Doyle would take separate flights: Doyle, the only standby to be called for boarding, had left out about an hour prior to Anita.

Anita called Bonnie while waiting for the next flight. She was number 8 on the list, meaning she likely would not be boarding the plane just having docked. Most standbys were being taken by ones, as opposed to several per flight. So, Bonnie and Anita prayed in agreement and in Christ’s holy name that Anita would be on the flight then boarding. No more than five minutes later, they called Anita’s name!

Four hours later and right on schedule, she called Bonnie, “I’m in Vegas!” Now we are praying that Anita and Doyle can get on a Sunday flight home; which might be a problem since Denver’s airport, as of last night, was once again shut down due to another blizzard hitting the State. If you are not sure your prayers are heard, then read a lesson from sometime ago entitled “Are ALL Prayers Heard.”

We serve a mighty God, His power infinite and His love great for those who love and obey Him. Christ assures us, “Whatsoever you ask, in my name, the Father will do.” God still is in the business of performing miracles and of caring for as well as protecting His people during these end days. So, get specific, making sure that whatsoever you ask of Him is the right thing, yet be willing to accept what ever is His will in the matter; for God’s will and timing are perfect, so wait patiently while doing your part in the request: which is to step out with the faith that all has been done before you even get there!

Confession for Salvation

Confession for Salvation

©copyright 2006 Bonita M Quesinberry, R.C.

“Confess your faults to each other and pray for each other, that you may be healed. The powerful passionate prayer of a righteous man accomplishes much good.” (James 5:16, AKJV paraphrased)

Confess our sins to each other? Christians like to refer to confession as testimonies; witnessing about how God has changed our lives, made us better than we were, helped us through myriad adversities, healed us of injuries and/or illnesses and diseases and, most of all, healing us of sin. The directive from Apostles James is to confess to each other, “that we may be healed.” That IS just one purpose for testifying, both to God and others. Luke 12:8 quotes Jesus, “Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God.” It is easy enough for anyone to say, “I believe in Jesus; but, by definition to confess means to admit, own up to, plead guilty of, come clean about, acknowledge. Obviously, “confessing Jesus” does mean much more than merely saying we believe in Him.

God does not point to what others have done to us as a means of influencing His judgment of us; rather, He judges us only on what we did. While there is no doubt God recognizes as abominable the things done to us by others; what they did, however, never will justify our sin against God and our fellow humans. God’s judgment and salvation are personal, thus His judgment of us is not influenced by other people’s actions in our lives.

According to Romans 10:10, confession is done for the gain of salvation; not only our own but, quite possibly, the salvation of others; as implied in James 5:16. By sharing our personal testimonies of having been cleansed of our various sins, we are helping others to move toward salvation. Who among us is without sin or would not want to be a vehicle for the salvation of a lost person?

Some of us have taken to heart Christ’s admonition to “go and sin no more,” therefore no longer commit sin in accordance with God’s Law of Righteousness; but, because sin is in our past and as long as we are in our original flesh body, we will be called sinners based upon the scars of sin we bear, and will continue to be called sinners until we are given new bodies. However, some of our brethren, who believe but are not fully converted— as discussed in “Become Fully Converted“— still live in some form of sin due to a lack of knowledge and wisdom about God and Christ and God’s Word.

Confession of our own sinful history is necessarily required by the spiritual needs of those who still are lost and/or not fully converted: a need to know they are no different than we once were; to know it is possible to become perfect, as Jesus instructed; the need to learn from us how to rise above a sinful nature they still nurture; to know how and why to confess their sins. Confession serves two purposes: not only might it save a lost person but it also serves as a reminder to us of where we once were; a prompt not to go that way again; a recall of why we do not want to return to those old, deadly ways; and, the remembering keeps us humble before our awesome Father.

It is so easy to become complacent, too comfortable in our obedience to God thus no longer feeling a need to confess. Unfortunately, becoming complacent not only removes us as a witness demonstrating God’s power and speaking His Truths but also makes us vulnerable to Satan’s temptations and tormenting with our past sins. Complacency leads to self-righteousness; a general attitude causing others to feel they never can measure up to the standard of perfection we have reached. As long as we continue to confess, we cannot become self-righteous; for it keeps us humble as it reminds us how filthy we were.

Confession prevents complacency, because of being humbled anew when we recall just how black and vile our hearts once were; a humbling reminder that we were no better than the world’s worst sinner and definitely no better than those who sinned against us personally, yet by only God’s merciful grace were our stony hearts softened to Truth.

It is important to remember that each person’s testimony is different and unique to him or her, yet not one person’s life is worse than another; for all sin is abominable to God. As He said, “Not one sin is greater than another, except blasphemy of the Holy Ghost.” Mankind likes to consider pedophiles, rapists and murderers as the worst sinners and the rest are considered minor sinners thus better than the worst. Well, God disagrees. In His judgment the speaker of a white lie is just as bad as the world’s pedophiles, rapists and murderers. If a person will lie, they are quite capable of committing all other sins and likely do in less obvious ways.

Therefore, each person’s testimony of deliverance is important and serves toward salvation for self and others. Each story will mean something different to different people: those who can identify will empathize, while others might not identify but will sympathize.

Many people can identify with this writer’s childhood fraught with every conceivable form of child abuse, including incest and rape; and, like many adult survivors, I could blame my parents and the rapist for each of my sinful acts. In that case, I still would be sinning. However, I believe God, thus I was and remain no better than what man deems the worst. In fact, I comprehend how my past was riddled with violations of all Ten of God’s Precepts, by some form or another and based on the Law’s weightier matters. Knowing and understanding and sharing this with others keeps me humble! And, it lets them know that, if I can rise above it all to sin no more, so can they; so can anyone.

Have you examined your past using God’s Law as the yardstick by which to measure just how sinful you were before your heart was softened? Allow me to share with you how my past measured up to His Ten Commandments, as cited in Exodus 20:3-17, after I finally realized by what measure He judges us and I pointed the finger to myself:

I. Thou shalt have no other gods before me — Well, I did; because I judged my success by how much money I made, the prestigious positions I held, and the things I owned. Money became my god when I also did not share it with those less fortunate than myself and I did not pay tithes with it. Simply greed. I clearly did not measure my success by God’s standards. I also indulged in pride: proud of the fact I personally worked for all I had, proud that I did it all myself. God considers pride, vanity, and stubbornness the same as idolatry. Only God has the right to pride, because He not only created all that there is but also gave me the ability and mindset to work, to achieve: it was not something I did of my own volition and power. I set up myself as a god when I judged my perfection according to the world’s standards instead of judging myself by God’s values.

II. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image — Based on having violated the first precept, I violated this one, too. After all, money includes graven images to false gods upon it and the frivolous things it can buy are graven images; and, I bought plenty of the frivolous things when I could have been helping the less fortunate. Only the necessities of life are exempt and I had not trusted God to provide those necessities nor had I given Him the glory for what I did have.

III. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain — Yes, I broke this one, too. Being disobedient to God in any point of His Law, while claiming belief, IS to take His name in vain. Jesus called it “flattering lips with no heart.” Of course, there are many ways to violate this statute, such as believing man’s teachings instead of God’s, or using God’s name as a curse word, and so forth. Nevertheless, only when I ceased to sin did I no longer violate this commandment.

IV. Remember to keep holy the seventh day Sabbath — Having been raised Southern Baptist, therefore observing the counterfeit Sunday, in itself caused me to violate this vital Law: God’s Holy Seal, as it were. Some might say, “You didn’t know any better at the time.” And this is true, I did not; albeit, I also did not seek God’s word for myself; still, when the Holy Spirit showed me the importance of this Law, even then I did not immediately comply. I should have done so. In fact, I knew about the seventh day for a whole year before becoming fully compliant: I worked one Saturday every month, shopped on Saturdays, had dinner out on Friday nights, obviously loving my job more than I loved God, because I did not want to give up the job; these behaviours actually causing others to violate God’s Sabbath, for which I was held accountable. Thus, for one year I knowingly violated this crucial, validating law.

As now evident, I violated all four of the very laws affecting our relationship with God. Needless to say, I wasn’t in very good standing with God and was surprised He had not erased my name from His Book of Life. We are fortunate to have Jesus as our Attorney in God’s courtroom. Nevertheless, if the above trespasses were not bad enough, I also violated God’s next six statutes; those affecting our relationships with other humans!

V. Honour thy father and thy motherThis is the precept where many people ask, and are irate as they do so, “Well, how do you honour abusive parents?” While such parents might not deserve to be honored, at least insofar as mankind thinks, we are nonetheless told to do so. I have come to learn that the only way to honor any earthly parent, good or bad, is to become what God wants us to be: righteous, just, and perfectly fit to be presented as a chaste virgin to Jesus, our coming Bridegroom. I violated this commandment every day that I lived in sin. Only when I fully ceased to sin did I begin to honor my parents and God, who is truly our only Parent.

VI. Thou shalt not kill. While I have never literally killed a person’s body, I have slain their spirit with my tongue; and, God considers this murder, the same as if I’d held a gun to someone’s head or stabbed a knife through their heart. I had my days of saying hateful, hurtful things to others with that wicked little member known as the tongue. Even wishing another person dead is a form of violating this precept. The only thing I did not do was lie about another person, which also is to slay another with the tongue. Thus, even in this Law I was not without guilt. Please note that fighting in wars, where killing others is common, does not fall into this law; yet, it can if a military person kills just for the sake of killing, considered war crimes, when killing really was not necessary. We are told to obey our governments and military personnel, for the most part, do just that.

VII.  Thou shalt not commit adultery. God talks about committing adultery against Him, which is to violate any point of His Law and/or to change it in any way or to do anything He did not command. Already I was guilty of adultery, as evidenced by violation of the first four statutes; then, I compounded the insult by committing adultery against man when I married the first time. Some have said, “But, Bonnie, you didn’t know you were committing adultery!” In my heart, I knew but listened to others instead of God. I really magnified this sin when, after divorcing, I then committed fornication, then married twice again! My first husband had caused me to unwittingly commit adultery by his lies and adultery; but, the last two were on me. So, in the first marriage I was guilty of adultery by association; but, I now had made it my sin and the next two men’s sin. God also considers it adultery for a married person to lust for another person, even if it is just in his or her thoughts. Yeah, been there, too.

VIII.  Thou shalt not steal. Yep, this too, when I was 11-years old, and I definitely knew better than to steal. I was so riddled with guilt that, as soon as I got home, I threw away the cheap little item I thought I just had to have. And, in the early years of my career, I did walk out of the office with a pen or pencil or a small note pad; often it was accidental, BUT I never took them back to the office. Theft by failure to return. Well, each of these things is stealing! These were items for which I did not pay! Guilty again. Have you ever taken a monogrammed ashtray or glass or towels from a hotel as a souvenir? This too is stealing. Oh, but the worst theft I ever committed was in not paying God the ten per cent tithes He requires and by not helping others less fortunate: I “robbed God.” I failed this law for a long time; at least until I fully trusted God to cover my expenses, despite giving Him ten per cent of whatever income I had in addition to financially helping others. Yes, in the Old Testament God said, “You have robbed me,” then went on to explain that it was of tithes not paid.

IX.  Thou shalt not bear false witness. I have never lied about someone; however, my past does reflect lies. I have lied for another person, not once but several times, yet even bigger lies were told during those days of adultery; though worse, I lied about God, although at the time I was unaware. How so? I justified divorce by society’s standard while God does not. I justified fornication by thinking I’d not be loved if I abstained. I taught my kids all about God and His Law but during their early years I was not their living example: same as if I had lied to them. I also lied by omission, which is to know a truth yet not reveal it when it should have been revealed. And, little white lies we tell and justify that we did it so as not to hurt another person’s feelings? There is no justification with God and no such thing as a white lie. A lie is a lie is a lie, thus is a sin is sin is sin. I was guilty!  Gees! Nine out of ten. Alas, ten it was.

X.  Thou shalt not covet. Is it not to covet when you work at keeping up with the Joneses, so to speak? Gotta have what everybody else has? Gotta have the very best, because society says so or you are considered a failure? Gotta have everything you want, despite the fact it might put you in debt way over your head? Gotta have it, thus you rob God? All I have to do to know I violated this law is to know I violated God’s second and fourth Commandments; especially the latter because it is a form of coveting the world when we violate the Sabbath statute in favor of the world’s behaviour and desires on this holy day. Also, to want another person’s job is a form of coveting, when we should be “satisfied with what we have and joyful for other people’s gains.” It even is to covet when we envy another person; whether it is envying their looks or their career or their spouse or anything they have.

As I shared each of my above sins with you, my heart broke anew; once again appalled at how badly I offended our Father, yet by this review I am also humbled anew: so, it’s a good thing. After all, Jesus said, “Whoever falls upon me will be broken; but whomever I fall upon will be destroyed” (Matthew 21:44). And, it is a good thing because my confession just might cause another person to analyze his or her standing with God, doing so by God’s standard, and to make changes to assure he or she enters heaven’s gate.

My past life has left ten huge scars of sin on this flesh body, even more when considering I violated each law in more than one way and, certainly, on more than one occasion. I also should add rape to my list of crimes. How so? I the same as raped God by accepting man’s take on God’s Law instead of going to God for His Truth, and thereby committed adultery against Him. I robbed Him, too, in that for many years I did not pay tithes. I cringe in shame yet I am so humbled that He still helped me to overcome, healed those grossly bleeding wounds, and, at last, gave to me the “Mind of Christ.”

Coming to gripes with the many ways in which I sinned against Almighty God, my only loving Father, came about because I truly love God and Christ; thus, when I realized my life had spiraled out of control, I petitioned God: “Father, please show me the weightier matters of your Law and your Word. Show me what I need to change and give me the strength to change them. I need your wisdom and knowledge, and only yours.”

God heard my plea and found my heart sincere, but only after I had proven to the Holy Spirit that I meant it by following my request with action on my part; then, He sent the Spirit to guide, teach and strengthen me in His Word. I ask again, “How do you measure up to God’s yardstick, the one determining our level of righteousness?” If you do not know for sure, then it is time to find out; because, when Jesus comes through earth’s door, which all signs indicate could be any day and hour, it will be too late to change anything that should have been changed beforehand. We must judge our self and prove to self that, indeed, we love God; that we are not just flattering Him with only our lips.

Oh? You were taught we are dead to God’s Law? An interesting lie from Satan; for even the New Testament states clearly: if we claim belief in God and Christ, we will be judged according to God’s Law. It would seem prudent that, if we are to be judged by His Law, then it is in our best interest to make sure we comply with His Law; otherwise, we are subject to the Law’s condemnation: the penalty of twice dead, to be utterly destroyed in earth’s end. Of those who do not have God’s law, He simply says they will perish without the Law. They are not even judged, just merely will perish forever.

The above premise is confirmed by Romans 2:12-13, which speaks further, “For the hearers of the Law are NOT justified by God, but the doers of the Law shall be justified.” To be justified, which is to be validated, confirmed as it were, by God is to be found worthy to share His Son’s kingdom for eternity. Desire only God’s validation, therefore judge self by His Law; for He WILL judge you by that same Law. Truth begins by being brutally honest with self. Truth succeeds by working out your own salvation.

Truth is: True Love Motivates Change and Obedience.

BonnieQ and Washington’s Worst Storm ~~ Prayers Needed

Reprint from Truth Seekers and Speakers (link in Blogroll) 12-18-06

Please forgive the lack of a Sabbath Broadcast this last Saturday. However, TSaS was hit by the worst storm in Western Washington’s history, last Thursday afternoon, with winds gusting as high as 85mph, which is consider hurricane category-1 force, and rainfall was as much as one inch within an hour. Over a million people were without power almost immediately, which included north Mason County where BonnieQ lives. Today, there still remain tens of thousands without power.

Additionally, lightening struck a transformer in Bonnie’s area, which exploded and downed a line across the only road coming into the small community. One of the substations serving this area also sustained considerable damage. A power company representative reported to news agencies that they were in a catch-22 situation: many areas had to be cleared of huge trees across access roads before they could even get to power plants and substations, then they had to repair plants before getting to substations. Also, they also were faced with many power poles snapped in half, which to replace can take at least six hours to replace just a pole.

Main power plants all over the area of Western Washington were badly damaged thus unable to supply the various substations and, from there, people’s homes and businesses. TSaS power went out about 7:40pm Thursday evening but, mercifully, it was restored at about 4:30pm yesterday, Sunday. Power crews were called in from numerous other states to aid Washington’s already exhausted crews: California, Utah, Nevada, Oregon, Idaho and several other states.

For the most part, many phone services also went down, including TSaS; not because lines were taken out necessarily but because there were so many desperate calls that phone companies had to temporarily shut down random trunk lines, then alternate the shut downs. So, phone service was sporadic at best when a trunk line was opened again for a few hours.

Currently, there are 5 known deaths: 1 man electrocuted by a downed line along with his dog, a woman drowned in her basement while trying to save some electronic equipment as it was being flooded by a mudslide, and three others by downed trees. As furiously as the fire department attempted to cut through the floor above that woman’s basement, it just was not fast enough: water pressure prevent her or firefighters from opening the basement door. There have been over 36 people placed in hyperbaric chambers, forgive the possible misspelling, of several hospitals for carbon monoxide poisoning: attempting to heat houses with propane camp stoves and camp heaters: before the storm hit newscasters had warned people not to do this.

BonnieQ’s place is surrounded by 50-foot fir trees and, while none of them came down, there was a tremendous amount of limbs ripped from the trees; some as big as 8-inches in diameter. The Lord, however, protected the house and that of her neighbors, only small branches getting close to Bonnie’s. The storm came out of the south, thus news reporters had cautioned people to avoid south bedrooms and all upstairs bedrooms. Bonnie had moved herself and her ferrets to the central living room in accordance.

BonnieQ has no alternate source of heat but did manage until midday Saturday. At that point her body was beginning to show signs of early hypothermia: hurting all over, hands experiencing a burning sensation, and feeling extremely tired. Having seen a report on hypothermia a few months before, she recognized her symptoms and knew she and her ferrets, who have no winter coats, had to get to warmth and keep moving until she could relocate. Praise God, her neighbor, Alice, heats with a woodstove and propane hot water, and quickly took in Bonnie and her two ferrets before it was too late!

Bonnie plopped the ferrets into their small pet carrier, gathered up a change of clothes and headed over to Alice’s. When she went to take a shower and shampoo her hair, she discovered her shampoo frozen solid. This is how cold it got inside the single-wide mobile home in which she lives. Since she is merely caretaker of the property, Bonnie can do nothing about getting alternate heat, nor could she afford the cost, and the property trustee does not want to bear such a cost for an old mobile home.

Nevertheless, all is well now at TSaS, except for a tremendous mess to clean up outside; however, this last Sabbath’s broadcast, which some of you might have noticed did not go out timely, still will not go out to members until next Sabbath. We at TSaS pray that all of you, some of whom do live in Western Washington and Canada, are warm and well. If you live in our part of the State, do send an email to TSaS to let us know how you have weathered the fierce storm, and we will share your news with your brethren.

Keep safe and keep the faith!

UPDATE: 12-20-06 . . .  Western Washington still has about 250,000 people without power and heat, death tolls continue to rise and includes entire families lost to carbon monoxide poisoning, hundreds of people in hospital hyperbaric chambers for the same reason, and another storm is moving in today with winds expected in the 30-40mph range. While normally such winds would not cause the current devastation, they likely will increase these damages due to trees and power poles already weakened. Please pray for those still without power and heat. Also, everyone has had to throw away all refrigerated and frozen foods. This is a terrible expense, especially to those who live on small fixed incomes of retirement and/or Social Security, such as BonnieQ.

God’s Law Compared to Man’s

God’s Law Compared to Man’s

©copyright 1999 Bonita M Quesinberry, R.C.

excerpt Truth Gathering, AKJV exhaustive Topical Bible

As the title indicates, this excerpt brings together God’s scriptures citing His Law as compared to Christ’s confirmation; then, both are compared to those laws taught by Satan’s synagogues, which appear Christian but are not and their laws are scripturally identified as “man’s commandments and traditions.” Be sure to note the remarkable differences in the latter, which do reflect changes, deletions and division: the very acts of which God says will reap utter destruction in earth’s end. These actions also are in direct opposition to Deuteronomy 4:2, that nothing is to be added to or taken away from God’s commandments. There are many New Testament confirmations, too many to cite them all here. For a complete citation, refer to AKJV Topical Bible Truth Gathering, chapter “God’s Statutes of Life;” which provides about 50 pages, typing paper size, of scriptural confirmation.

God’s Law “from the beginning,” Exodus 20:3-17 and Deuteronomy c.5; confirmed by Christ’s Law; then both compared to “Man’s Law” . . .

God said: Thou shalt have no gods before me.

Jesus said: Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve. (Matthew 4:10)

Man’s Law I, “I am the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not have strange gods before me.

God said: Thou shalt not make thee any graven imagine, or any likeness of anything that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third generation of them that hate Me; and showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and obey my commandments.

Jesus said: Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone graven by art and man’s device. (I John 5:21; Acts 17:29)

Man’s Law II: Thou shalt not take the name of thy Lord thy God in vain.

God said: Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh His name in vain.

Jesus said:  That the name of God and His doctrine be not blasphemed. (I Timothy 6:1)

Man’s Law III: Remember that thou keep Holy the Sabbath. (midnight Saturday to midnight Sunday)

God said: Remember the Sabbath Day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labor and do all thy work; but the seventh day (sundown Friday to sundown Saturday) is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God; in it thou, nor thy son, nor daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger (heathen) that is within thy gates: for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it (made it holy).

Jesus said:  Pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the Sabbath day. The Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath: therefore, the Son of man (Jesus) is Lord also of the Sabbath. For He spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, and God did rest the seventh day from all His works. There remaineth therefore a keeping of a Sabbath to the people of God. For he that is entered into His rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from His. For by Him were all thing created, that are in Heaven, and that are in earth. (Matthew 24:20; Mark 2:27,28; Hebrews 4:4,9-10; Colossians 1:16; Luke 5:6; Mark 2:27-28)

Man’s Law IV: Honor thy father and thy mother.

God said: Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

Jesus said: Honor thy father and thy mother. (Matthew 19:19)

Man’s Law V: Thou shalt not kill.

God said:  Thou shalt not kill.

Jesus said: Thou shalt do no murder. (Matthew 19:19)

Man’s Law VI:  Thou shalt not commit adultery.

God said: Thou shalt not commit adultery.

Jesus said:  Thou shalt not commit adultery. (Matthew 19:19)

Man’s Law VII:  Thou shalt not steal.

God said:  Thou shalt not steal.

Jesus said: Thou shalt not steal. (Matthew 19:18)

Man’s Law VIII: Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.

God said: Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.

Jesus said: Thou shalt not bear false witness. (Matthew 19:18)

Man’s Law IX: Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife.

God said: Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor anything that is thy neighbor’s.

Jesus said:  Thou shalt not covet. (Roman 7:7, implies anything or anybody)

Man’s Law X:  Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s goods.

There is a slight distortion in the very first precept, where man’s law says, “no strange gods before me,” as opposed to God saying “no gods.” Satan qualified “strange” because there is no false god that is strange to him; therefore, the use of false idols and rituals in Christ’s name are acceptable to Satan. None are acceptable to God or Christ.

The next thing to notice about man’s commandments above: Satan’s synagogues deleted God’s second Commandment regarding graven images. Why? Because Papal Rome, who is Revelation’s great whore that made these changes, is littered with graven images to false gods yet are named as being to mother Mary and Christ and various people Rome has declared as saints; and, so do her daughters the Protestant denominations, though to a much lesser degree in order to hide the family resemblance.

By omitting the second Law, the whole Law is reduced to nine instead of ten, which required that Satan move the third commandment into second place; nevertheless, there remain nine and he would have to do something in order to come up with Ten, so that the overall appearance of God’s Law would seem the same if merely glanced upon rather than Biblically studied.

Man’s fourth precept has been moved into third position yet refers to God’s fourth regarding His Holy Sabbath; whereas man’s sabbath is void of being a true seal of authority, which God’s Sabbath meets all criteria of a valid seal of authority (see article “Seal of The Living God“). It also lacks the citation of a specific day. Rather than do so, which would be too obvious for Satan’s devious taste, his denominations teach an abbreviated law, by using a scripture that is abbreviated, while contrarily saying people should be in church on the first day of the week, Sunday.

They even avoid calling Sunday the Sabbath, for that would be a blatant lie. Instead they call it by a less obvious lie, the Lord’s Day; which Biblically is another name for God’s Holy Sabbath, but most people do not know this. Instead, they accept that it was the day Christ arose from the grave, which in their mind makes the day okay with God.

Man’s fourth law also lacks the reason for authority; as God’s Law states He created all there is in heaven and earth. Neither does man’s cite a domain over which those laws are enforceable; God’s says the domain is heaven and earth. And, finally, man’s sabbath law lacks the name of the author of his laws; and, there is good reason: because Satan does not want us to know he is the plagiaristic author.

Satan wants us to believe God is the author, which is to unwittingly set Satan up as our God if we follow man’s laws. Therefore, man’s sabbath precept is not a valid seal of authority. The only seal criterion Satan’s law reflects is that it does not resemble God’s Seal; therefore it is a unique counterfeit but a counterfeit nonetheless. God’s seal is unique, for there is no other religion in the universe that observes God’s seventh day.

Finally, we get to God’s tenth precept about coveting. It is here that Satan made up for deleting God’s second commandment: he split the tenth statute into two separate laws, and numbered them nine and ten. Voila! Man now has ten blasphemous commandments and the majority of those who profess to be Christians believe they are being taught God’s Law; when, in fact, they are being taught lies for God: as Jesus charged, “They teach commandments and traditions of men . . . teaching lies for God.”

They continue these lies in God’s name in direct opposition to Deuteronomy 4:2. Revelation 22:19 confirms and clearly states that anyone who adds to or takes from God’s Word will be removed from His Book of Life. To be deleted from that book is to perish “with or without God’s Law.” Romans 2:12-13 clearly states this and adds, “For the hearers of the law are not just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.” To be justified by God means that a person has been approved to share in Christ’s kingdom to come.

Which laws were you taught? More importantly, which laws do you obey? We ought to obey God instead of men. (Acts 5:29)

Become Fully Converted

Become Fully Converted

Jesus said to Peter, “Simon, Simon; know that Satan desires to have you, so he may devour you like sifted wheat. But, I have prayed for you, that your faith does not fail; and when you are [fully] converted, then strengthen your brethren.” ~~Luke 22:31-32, paraphrased.  I Peter 5:6-9 confirms: Satan desires to have all of us. “Strengthen your brethren” goes hand in hand with those mature in God’s Word and who are teaching the infants in God’s Word, which is covered below. Once Peter was fully converted, His instruction was to teach: to “feed” Christ’s small flocks of sheep.

Still, why would Christ say such a thing to Peter about Satan? After all, Peter had walked along side Jesus from day one of His ministry, boldly declaring Him to be the Messiah, the Son of God: his Lord and Saviour. His loyalty seemed strong, unshakable throughout those three and a half years. Yet, reading further into Luke’s chapter 22, we find Jesus warning Peter that he would deny knowing Christ three times following His arrest.

This, then, was one manner by which Satan would tempt Peter: if he acknowledged Jesus, he would die with Christ. We might imagine Peter envisioning himself hanging on one of those three crosses right along with Jesus, had he owned up to being one of His followers. Fear is one of Satan’s greatest weapons used against people to turn them away from God and His Truth; fear always is couched in death: fear of dying. To fear death of our flesh, to fear anything and anyone, is a clear sign that we neither know God nor Christ. We might believe in them yet not know them.

As the Word says, “I do not give you a spirit of fear, rather I give you a spirit of peace.” Additionally, God said, “My people perish for lack of knowledge.” He is not speaking about knowledge or wisdom of this world; rather, God speaks of lacking knowledge and wisdom of God and Christ.

Satan was attacking Peter throughout Christ’s ministry; as noted in “Is Healing of a Christian’s Body a Given,” which includes a section on Peter. He argued with Jesus, questioned what He was doing, and boasted of giving up everything to follow Him; each behaviour wholly unacceptable to God and Christ.

We have no right to question what God does; certainly, we have no right to argue either God’s or Christ’s directives and neither do we have a right to change anything God has commanded; and, we’ve certainly nothing to boast about if we follow Jesus, for we did nothing to earn God’s call to His side. By God’s grace, we were called yet, thereafter, still must be chosen; as Christ indicated when He said, “Many are called, few are chosen.”

Later, Peter acted with violence against a guard who was in the act of arresting Jesus. Peter, surely thinking he was being noble and loyal, instantly yanked out his sword and sliced off the man’s ear; which ear Christ immediately restored to the guard while correcting Peter. Jesus taught us to be loving peacemakers, to walk as peaceably among mankind as possible; to love even our enemies, to give good for evil. Cutting off the man’s ear was neither a peaceful nor good action on Peter’s part. It clearly was evil.

What this shows us is that Satan also wants to devour us and, despite claiming belief, we start out giving only a little of ourselves to Christ while fearing that, if we give of our whole self, we will suffer in myriad ways; which is true, we will suffer. BUT, this doesn’t mean partial conversion cannot become full conversion, that we cannot come to give of our whole self for Jesus; which conversion must be achieved or we will perish in earth’s end.

We’ve only to understand the growth process, those steps necessary to becoming fully converted, then be willing to take the steps to gain God’s knowledge and wisdom. As instructed, we are to grow into Christ’s righteousness, which means to become as righteous as He was and is. Paul further enlightens in Philippians 2:12, “So, my beloved, since you have always obeyed, not in my presence only but even in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” We must work at becoming righteous; which is exactly why it is crucial to obey God’s Law, for it is the Law of Righteousness.

When you are converted” implies that full conversion is not immediate in most cases, though it can be, as it was in Apostle John: in Peter’s case, despite having already served at Christ’s side for three and a half years, his conversion was not completed until after Christ’s ascension; for even during the 40 days following Christ’s resurrection, Peter again questioned Jesus about what He was going to do as He walked away with John.

I Peter 5:10, paraphrased, sheds light on when we become fully converted, “God of all grace has called us to share His eternal glory by Christ Jesus; so that, after you have suffered for a while, you will be made perfect, strongly established in God’s Word, and you become mature; which is to say unshakable.” (see “Grace: Times Seven“) Do not be misled into thinking that suffering stops after becoming fully converted. It does not and will not, until Christ returns. If anything, it becomes worse.

Those who speak true for God and Christ always will suffer. This passage tells us that, after we’ve suffered for a while, we will become stronger through it and will find it much easier thereafter to get through Satan’s continued torment. Satan is relentless when it comes to God’s people, especially in these end days; for he is now in a desperate rage, all of which is directed at infant converts, who are the most vulnerable due to a lack of knowledge, and especially God’s Truth speakers because they cannot be moved.

From Adversities to Blessings” revealed that God allows adversity in order to measure our level of righteousness and so that we can come to understand there is nothing and no one greater than God; which directly relates to “after you have suffered for a while.” Ephesians 4:15 describes this process as “growing into Christ’s righteousness.”

A new “born again” Christian often is referred to scripturally as an “infant, one who drinks milk, not yet ready for solid food.” As any infant must, so a new Christian must learn to sit, to crawl, to speak, and to walk while, ultimately and gradually, solid food will be introduced by God’s mature Christians. Ephesians describes “solid food” as learning “to speak God’s Truth in love.”

The “milk” represents a period of learning about God’s and Christ’s love for us; while “solid food” refers to the weightier matters of God’s Word. We cannot hope to speak “Truth in love” until true love is in our hearts and it compels us to obedience; for it is then we understand what is truly LOVE: its depths and breadths and heights. Only godly love within us can speak Truth, no matter what obstacles and persecutions that might and will be thrown in our paths.

A mature Christian has no fear of anything man or beast can do to his or her flesh body, does not fear death of the body, does not fear persecution, does not fear Satan’s cruel thorns; does not fear losing a job, does not fear losing material possessions; does not fear anything or anyone except God. Albeit, the mature do experience weariness of the fight, from time to time, but they continue on: for God will provide breaks from earth’s ongoing spiritual battles.

A mature Christian rejoices in all things, good or bad, and is bold in speaking God’s Truth to all who will hear and obey; despite persecution and thorns. Alas, too many people have not been taught these things from their favored pulpits; thus, far too many turn away from God when temptations and/or adversities or the cares of this world come upon them, especially adversities.

Why turn away? Because these infants have been led to believe their life instantly will be better, happier, more peaceful and, certainly, more monetarily prosperous after accepting Christ. If it is not, they then are told it is because they either do not believe or they have no faith or both or they are not fully following man’s doctrine. Two of the worst lying accusations being flung at new Christians are, “The poor do not have God” and, “You are dead to the Law because God knows you cannot obey it.” What a crock! It was the ordinances that were impossible to maintain.

Deep down at their core, these infants fear Satan’s cruelty, especially if they witness a mature, bold disciple suffer thorns as well as persecution from those who appear to be Christian brothers and sisters and even family members. They do not understand they are not subjected to anything unusual to Christ’s sheep, as noted in I Peter 4:12-19 and 5:6-9. Even Jesus was tempted and suffered adversities, as were His Apostles. Christ suffered for us and the Word says we WILL suffer for Him, IF we truly love and obey.

Sadly, “don’t rock the boat” is what these infants learn very quickly, while being encouraged to cling to smooth words spewing from their chosen denominational pulpit and to rapidly adhere to “man’s commandments and traditions” instead of God’s; clearly not recognizing that their approval is coming from Satan, not God.

Unfortunately, and while they do not realize they have chosen death instead of life, their current life seems to improve when they do as man directs: for Satan does not torment those who bow to his desire, which desire is that they continue in sin while declaring love for God and man. The base of his desire is our total death, both body and spirit; and, the best way to assure that our spirit man dies is to con us into believing that we don’t have to concern ourselves with obey God’s Doctrine, His Statutes of Life.

If every infant were taught God’s Truth from the very beginning, their chances of becoming mature in God’s Word would be greater; for there is no escaping the fact that a person can deal with what they know and understand but will run from what they do not comprehend. As noted above, “My people perish for lack of knowledge.” Notice that it says, “MY people.” God is not speaking to the whole world, only to those who profess belief but do not obey, are not wholly converted. It is this lack of knowledge for which corporate Christendom must and will, in the end, take the bulk of responsibility.

As Jesus said, they “are like white tombs, beautiful on the outside but full of dead men’s bones.” Corporate Christendom will have the blood of their followers on their own hands; for as God said, “Satan slays his own.” In other words, when those followers are cast into the pit of fire and brimstone with Satan, it will be because of his lies they have followed.

“Study to show yourself approved by God” (see “How to Study God’s Word“). This is the first requirement of an infant, yet the vast majority listen to pulpit speakers then go home and wait until the next week to “hear” again; or, they solely rely on evangelical television, which is just as misleading and teaches the same lies for God. Therefore, the infant also is responsible for his or her own lack of knowledge; IF he or she opts to take only the word of whomever stands in the pulpit to preach or shouts from their television screen. To do so is to choose death, wittingly or unwittingly.

There is more revealed in Christ’s statement to Peter regarding Satan’s desire to devour him: it verifies Satan’s existence and that he does tamper with our lives: he tempts, torments, and inflicts cruelty through the actions of other humans or directly by attacking our bodies with illnesses and diseases as well as planting errant thoughts in our minds.

Unfortunately, many Christians believe Satan does not exist and, as such, has no control over their lives. Such belief is dangerous; first, in that it denies God’s Word about Satan; and, second, because the person is unwittingly giving their control over to Satan by merely denying his existence and power to deceive as well as harm. Only by recognizing Satan and his myriad wicked ways are we able to exercise control over him, thus take back control of our life choices.

Satan operates in a catch-22 method and that really is to his liking: if we follow after man’s commandments and traditions we unwittingly have chosen death; if we do not study to show ourselves approved, we knowingly have chosen death; if we turn away from God and Christ altogether, we boldly have chosen death. In any case, Satan is laughing all the way to God’s pit of fire and brimstone and will drag us in with him: because it does not matter how we made the choice, for our actions reveal our choice.

There is so much to learn about God and Christ in order to come to truly know them both, so much wisdom and knowledge to gain; but, only if one willingly chooses to learn from those truly mature in God’s Word, which does not mean those trained by man’s seminaries and/or theologians; both teaching man’s commandments and traditions: lies in God’s name. It means those who continue to “study to show themselves approved,” who suffered for a while and became strong in God’s wisdom and knowledge, thus still are suffering for Christ; those who encourage infants to “study to show themselves approved” and teaches them just how to do it, such as set out in “How to Study God’s Word.

How can anyone make wise choices if he or she is not willing to study in order to confirm what he or she is being taught by another? Refusing to study, grow and confirm is to willingly choose death over eternal life. It is to be considered dead in this life and to be deemed twice dead forever. To refuse to study also denies the Holy Spirit as our guide, a form of unforgivable blasphemy. Satan gets a chuckle out of this one at our expense.

Is this temporary life really worth such a sacrifice to Satan? The Destroyer can attack only our mind and flesh, his goal being to influence the spirit man within to sin against God: the New Testament clearly tells us that sin is to violate God’s Ten Statutes, and that no such person will ever enter heaven’s gates. God, on the other hand, can destroy both the flesh and spirit man within. Better to fear thus obey God than to fear what the Waster can and will do to us in this life. Get a clue! This is TEMPORARY.

In John 6:63 Jesus said, “There is no profit in the flesh.” Paul noted, about having Jesus in our lives, “You ought to be able to control your flesh.” As explained in “The Mind of Christ,” as true believers we DO control our body’s actions and our mind’s thoughts and the words from our mouths.

Study to show yourself that God has approved you for Christ’s kingdom and study to become fully converted: for the reward is eternal life in paradise.
