News 11/07-11/10: 3.5 days in “terrors of end days,” Terrors continue all over but TSaS is not giving news today for a much needed physical/emotional break; Update Hurricane Ida, downgraded to a tropical storm, winds 70mph hit Louisiana, Alabama, Florida’s Panhandle, Ida killed 91 w/60 missing in El Salvador’s massive rains causing floods and mudslides; Earthquake hits Indonesia on 11/08, 1 death/many injuries reported;

It is getting very difficult to get accurate news, especially about death/injury tolls from both natural catastrophic events and wars, reports now using terms like “dozens” or “scores” or “a lot” but giving no figures or only low end numbers—URGENT watch clouds, pray for victims’ families all over the world, “pray unceasing” . . .

MESSAGE from BonnieQ: Tues 11/10—I watched the memorial for our 13 fallen heroes of Ft. Hood, Texas, today, the eve of Veterans’ Day; a very moving ceremony filled with many uplifting words from President Obama, the base chaplain, singing “Amazing Grace,” roll call and more. As thoughts of God’s Word crossed my mind, one speaker quoted Isaiah, “Who shall go for us? And, one stood and said, ‘Take me, I will go.'” This phrase was actually Christ offering himself for humanity, recited to reflect this nation’s soldiers’ vow during peacetime and in wars on foreign soils.

I’ve been hearing a common, angrily delivered charge since November 5th, “The moment I heard about the shooting I knew it was a Muslim! They shouldn’t be allowed in our military.” Others have said, “I’ve read the Quran and their belief to kill all infidels is right there!” Really? Before jumping to that conclusion and, possibly doing something stupid, please read on in the spirit and mind of Christ.

CNN interviewed several of Islam’s clerics, each of whom stated that Muslim extremists misinterpret Islam’s Quran, sadly believing it is their duty to kill all the worlds’ “infidels.” I urge God’s people and Christ’s sheep not to judge the whole of Islam by the few Muslim extremists, to refrain from and attempt to prevent others from issuing backlashes to innocent US Muslims, many of whom successfully and honorably serve in our military forces today, vowing their allegiance and love for the United States.

I am reminded of the Dark Ages, a time when millions where killed by Papal Rome for their refusal to embrace its church and dogma. I am reminded of the US, before it became a nation; a time when Sabbatarians were beaten in their own homes, jailed and even hanged for violating Sunday; a day clearly not sanctified by God or Christ. Look at the many misinterpretations of the Holy Bible then and the vast majority who do so today, much to their own demise.

I’ve heard many statements based on misinterpretations: “It’s full of wars and killings” and “It’s a book full of sex, so what’s wrong with enjoying a natural inclination in whatsoever way we choose” and “It’s full of kings with multiple wives” and “It’s all about love, nothing more; so homosexuality is acceptable because it’s all about love!” Indeed, we serve a God of love; but to twist His Word is to bring damnation down upon all those who do these blasphemous acts of disobedience. Truly serving God and following in His Son’s footsteps is to do so in love without judgment or condemnation, to embrace all in loving understanding: whether it is an understanding of their obedience or an understanding that this world is all they will have for their disobedience. We are here to warn of noncompliance with God’s Truth and to pray for the lost, the lukewarm and cold.

The comments and erroneous beliefs continue on and have been responsible for the rise of religions we easily could name to support each misinterpretation: Satan’s twist on God’s Word. Thus, the same can be said about the Bible that today is being said about the Quran. Even the Bible refers to unbelievers as “infidels.” So, should we go out and “kill all the infidels?” No!

Judgment and vengeance is God’s and God’s alone. We are to preach and teach God’s Truth, the love of God and His Christ with a message of peace and hope; and, if faced with death for our peaceful beliefs, we should spread our arms wide and say, “Take your best shot; for I guarantee that God will raise me up again.”

THIS is what Jesus did for us, both in His walk, His obedience to and teaching of God’s Truth, and when He spread His arms upon the cross: “You who follow me shall suffer for me as I have suffered for you.” WE do not deliver pain and death; WE deliver love, peaceful behaviour, and warn of violations. Beyond this we cannot enforce God’s morality; only He can do that but refuses because He gave each human the right of choice. WE of all people should honor that right in all peoples, whether they threaten our lives or accept us as we accept them.

The only thing about today’s memorial that I found disturbing was the chaplain’s prayer, rather how he closed it. Jesus said, “Whatsoever ye ask in my name, the Father will do.” The prayer was to “God Almighty” and was a request for strength, courage and the ability to move one: all wonderful, much needed petitions of the Father. However, he closed the prayer with simply “Amen,” making no request in Christ’s name.

That saddened me greatly; thus I prayed for all the same things for the living and dead soldiers, their families and friends, in Christ’s holy name. Please do the same, each and every one of you; as I pray that all of you will be as Christ and offer your hand in friendship to all our neighbors, no matter what they believe. Remember who and what you are and for whom you stand; then study below God’s Word about prayers.

Are ALL Prayers Heard?
©copyright 1988 annotations by Bonita M Quesinberry

Does God hear every prayer uttered by every person in the world? Don’t be so quick to say ‘yes;’ for God’s short answer is NO. He neither hears nor responds to prayers spoken by the wicked and filthy, they who demonstrate unbelief despite, perhaps, expressing belief or not; albeit, He does give to them their hearts desires: as scripture states, “God is kind even to the wicked while they are here.” Other verses clarify: this world is all they will ever have; thus, when they die a physical death, there will be only a second death to come: death of their spiritual being that gave life to their flesh garment.

God’s examples of unbelief are disobedience and a heartfelt desire and/or request for things of this world. Jesus did not pray for such things and He was wholly obedient, which John 17:9-10 validates. II Chronicles 7:14 states: “IF His people turn from their wicked ways, then God will hear.” Obviously, hearing and replying to prayer depends on demonstrated BELIEF by being obedient and for WHAT it is we are asking.

On the other hand, Truth doers, who demonstrate belief and whom God does hear, are instructed to pray for the wicked and filthy. One might ask, however, who are non-believers and believers? God’s words from the Authorized King James Version Bible, following below, explain both. Unbelief is demonstrated in various ways, some not as readily detectible as others. A prior TSaS article defines, “Who Are True Believers.”

Tales abound about various people having uttered a prayer similar to: “God, if you really exist, then…” and they state what it is they want, then declare He answered their plea. Yet, the very wording of their opening statement to God proclaims disbelief of His existence. Scripture validates: “God does not hear prayers of the wicked and filthy.” Thus, it is a certainty He does not hear those who doubt His very existence.

Some might point to Apostle Thomas Didymus—remember “Doubting Thomas?” (John 20:24-29) It is important to note: 1. Thomas did not question God’s existence; and 2. He did not deny Jesus was exactly who He claimed to be. What Thomas doubted was Christ’s resurrection from the dead, nothing more. Thus, Thomas demonstrated “O, ye of little faith,” but he did not at all lack belief.

There are those who claim belief and do seem to credit God with all they have, yet remain unbelievers in His eyes. Not to preclude average to middle income people, most highly visible among these unbelievers are celebrities, including those of the pulpit: all of whom state God has blessed them with their greatest desires—fame, fortune, success and a world who loves them. Listen to what to celebrities say at various televised award ceremonies. Listen to what is said on TBN and DayStar.

The latter have firmly entrenched the world into what are supposed to be God’s spiritual ministries absent of fame and fortune. Not only them but also denominations around our planet do the same. So, one might say, “We’ve only to call upon the name of the Lord” (Romans 10:13). There is more to it than one singular verse out of God’s Written Word. If no more than calling upon the Lord were all it takes to be saved, then why were we warned that even the demons profess the Lord: yet they will be destroyed.

Thus, calling upon the Lord is but one part of the whole; and, it is only the whole that results in life everlasting. Taking one verse, while excluding all other relevant text, is exactly what corporate Christendom does to justify the lies they teach and the wayward ways in which they live: “smooth words,” and their followers love it so. The road to utter destruction is paved with lies, innuendos and omissions.

Therefore, prayers being heard and granting hearts desires are two entirely separate issues as well as events. Every human on this planet is granted the true desire of his or her heart: which isn’t to say his or her prayers are heard, too. The wicked and filthy desire things of this world and they have them, whatever those might be: fame, fortune, power, success at whatever level or even lack of success, drugs, alcohol—the list goes on. To have or not to have things of this world has little to do with determining belief but everything to do with determining the heart’s desire. If the desire isn’t spiritual, then the person isn’t God’s child.

God’s people desire spiritual things, thus even their prayers are heard. In summary, it would behoove us all to be very careful about what we ask of God: worldly or spiritual. Nevertheless, read what God has to say about whom He hears and to whom He turns a deaf ear. * * * * *

I Samuel 8:18—Ye shall cry out in that day because of your king which ye shall have chosen you; and the Lord will not hear you in that day.

II Chronicles 7:14—IF MY PEOPLE, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS; THEN WILL I HEAR from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Job 35:12-13—There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men. Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard.

Psalm 17:1—Hear the right, O Lord, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer that goeth not out of feigned lips.

Psalm 109:2~,3-7—The mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against me: they have spoken against me with a lying tongue. They compassed me about also with words of hatred; and fought against me without a cause. For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer. And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love. Set thou a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand at his right hand. When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin.

Psalm 145:17-20—The Lord is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works. The Lord is nigh unto [near] all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them. The Lord preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy.

* * * * * Note the line stating God hears ONLY those who call upon Him in TRUTH. Truth is one piece of God’s armor, which happens to be His Law: as confirmed in Psalm 119:142,151. The requirement of obeying same, in order to enter Yeshua’s kingdom, is established in Isaiah 26:2 as well as three times in The Revelation.  * * * * *

Proverbs 15:8-9—The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord: but the prayer of the upright is his delight. The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the Lord: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.

Proverbs 21:12-13—The righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked: but God overthroweth the wicked for their wickedness. Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.

Proverbs 28:9—He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.

Isaiah 1:15—And when ye [who have committed abominations before the Lord] spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.

Isaiah 59:1-4—Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: but your iniquities [sins] have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness. None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.

Zechariah 7:11-13—They refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear. Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the Law, and the words which the Lord of hosts hath sent in his spirit by the former prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the Lord of hosts. Therefore it is come to pass, that as [all the people of the land] cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the Lord of hosts:

Matthew 5:44~,45—I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute; that ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Luke 18:10-14—Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased [humiliated]; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted [made glorious].

John 9:31—We know that God heareth not sinners: but if any be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.

John 17:8~,9-10—They have believed that thou didst send me. I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine. And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.

Romans 2:12-13—For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; for not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. {refer back to Luke 18:10-14}

Romans 10:10-13,17—For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

I Peter 3:7—Ye husbands, dwell with [your wife] according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.

I John 5:16—If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask [for his brother], and [God] shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

EVIDENCE: those who CONSISTENTLY VIOLATE even one of GOD’S TEN COMMANDMENTS, his or her PRAYERS ARE NOT HEARD. But, what if he or she is wholly obedient yet seems to receive no answer? Believers’ prayers always are heard. God’s answer might be a resounding NO, or it might be LATER. It is crucial to remember: our Lord does everything in His children’s best interest or the best interest of a person on whose behalf we pray and in perfect timing. What our little finite brain might decide is best, actually could be the worst thing in the end of a matter: especially if it puts another’s and/or our salvation at risk. Additionally, we might be asking in error: which is to ask for things of this world, including someone’s life.

Bear in mind: Apostle James is speaking only to Christ’s church, not the world at large, wherein c.4 v.1-4 and v.6 state: “From whence come wars and fightings among you? Come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is an enemy of God. But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.”

James goes on to say in v.7-10: “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh [near] to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double-minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.”

What is it to be double-minded? It is to think we can have one foot in the world and the other in righteousness yet maintain assurance of salvation. God says we either live in the world, thus not His, or we are not of this world and belong to Him. We cannot have both, which is to say “maybe” to God instead of a definitive “yes or no.” Demonstrating a “maybe” to God is to be “lukewarm:” as noted in Revelation 3:15-17. This world, as we know it, is temporary. What God offers is permanent. Therefore and whether consciously or unconsciously, people make a solid decision for one or the other. As far as God is concerned, there is no middle road.

Is God contradicting Himself when, on the one hand, He says to rejoice in the Lord and find His Law a delight; yet on the other hand, He says to mourn and weep? No, He is not contradictory. To mourn and weep is to do so over how utterly we have sinned against our Creator, forthrightly admitting our sins thus humbling ourselves before Him in full repentence and utter obedience. Also, we are to mourn and weep over the encompassing wickedness in this world.

Only then can we rejoice in the Lord and find His Law a delight: obeying not because we “have” to, which is legalism, but rather because in humility and love we “want” to obey. “His law is not grievous.” It is not terrible or burdensome, not impossible to follow, as the world would have us believe.

Nevertheless, without the love of God in our hearts, we never will obey totally: thus, marked UNBELIEVER. We can claim belief all day and even find others who will say we do believe, but this doesn’t mean God seals us as a believer. Are your prayers being heard? If not and you wish to be heard, then examine: 1) your requests—are they worldly or spiritual—and, 2) scrutinize where you might be falling short of Adonai’s Statutes of Life; submit and obey in humility…but, ONLY IF you truly love our Father more than you love the world and its things and its people.

As Jesus said, “If you love the world and if you love mother, father, brother, sister, even friends, and your life more than me; then you are not worthy of me. You are not worthy of the kingdom.”
