Brief News: M5.0 or greater earthquakes have been happening in less than every 24-hours for the past 5 days, including 3 yesterday that were not reported on the news— M5.1 Sandwich Island, M5.2 Tonga, and M5.1 New Guinea coast (again)— Chili was hit again with a M5.9 this Friday morning. These are not after shocks. Since 1991, we have been tracking all of the elements, including earthquakes and volcanoes. At the time, however, we picked up on only those of M6.0 or greater due to causing catastrophic events. Recently, we have seen M5.0’s becoming just as deadly and extremely frequent. The last 7-days report showed 1168 quakes for the week, but this week the 7-days had 1889 quakes— an increase of 721 quakes.

Also, Iceland’s Eyjafjöll volcano spewed steam for a few hours but began erupting ash and lava again: scientists watching its neighbor said that if Katla blows it will be ten (10) times worse than what has been seen from Eyjafjöll.

Illogical Question: “Which do you love more, Jesus or God’s Law?” Florida: this query was thrown at Sister Tammy by her boss, a Sunday-associate pastor, this morning of Sabbath Eve. For a moment it threw her, then responses came to the ready. There are many reasons this question is totally illogical; nevertheless, Tammy answered, “I love them both equally.” Her boss said, “It’s impossible to love them equally!” Tammy’s responses were all scriptures: keep this in mind as you read her Sabbath testimony.

A few years ago, we put out a lesson on “Love.” Man and his denominations tend to teach love by degrees: “love a spouse differently than a child because you do not have sex with your child!” Or, “love a friend differently than a child” and so forth. Love is a choice, sex is chemistry and one has nothing to do with the other. The point of the lesson was that love is love; there are no degrees of love, as God and Christ are evidence.

Then we were reminded of “God’s Armor,” a piece of which far too many people are missing: Truth. This leads us to the Psalms, wherein Christ told us what is that piece as He spoke with His Father: “Thy Law IS the truth.” He also went on to say, “I love thy Law.” Would anyone dare ask Jesus which He loved more, God’s Law or God? No sane person would, for Christ loved both equally. After all, God exemplifies His Law thus Christ mirrored it because He loves His Father and loves the value of God’s Law.

We love God’s Law because it is just and right, therefore we strive daily to obey it. We love Jesus because He first loved us and died for our “past” sins. Because we love and obey, the Holy Spirit then gives the “heart and mind of Christ” to us. How, then, could we not love God’s Law as much as we love Jesus? They are one and the same. Since we have the heart and mind of Christ, we can see it no other way: to love one is to love both and love incites obedience.

When Tammy shared the scriptures above, she concluded by referring to Revelation’s three citations of the wise being those who “obey God’s Commandments and have the faith of and in Jesus Christ.” To the above Old Testament verses, her boss asked, “Do you even use the New Testament?” She told him that we use the entire Bible, which reminded us of Christ’s analogy: “A wise man brings forth from his treasures both the old and new.” We also are reminded of Christ teaching that both the Old and New are the two witnesses. However, about the Revelation verses, her boss said, “Well, that’s Revelation,” as though it did not count. Nothing from the Old Testament or the Gospels or Revelation mattered to this man; despite the fact Tammy had quoted from each. Instead, he spewed an angry retort, “Do you always have to have the last word?” The irony he missed was that in each response the “last word,” as he put it, were God’s words: not Tammy’s.

All this rhetoric came about because Tammy’s boss resents her obedience to God’s Sabbath, over which Jesus also is Lord, instead of adhering to Sunday. Sadly, the world’s majority are too quick to say, “Well, that’s your opinion,” without ever checking God’s Word for themselves. This is perceived by God as having said directly to HIM, “Well, that’s your opinion God! My opinion differs . . . or, my denomination teaches differently.” Blasphemy is fatal, absolutely fatal.

Would you obey man or God? The former is death and the latter life everlasting: that is the choice God put before our world from the beginning. Today, we have reached the end of time and God’s sentences are based on each individual’s choice: man or God, death or life. We ought to obey God and have faith in and of Jesus: faith in His promise to return to redeem us and the faith of (like) Christ’s, which allows us to face death by persecutors.

Much love in Christ,
